Words

It is hard to realise how words can inflict pain, just because the scars aren't visible. Nobody likes insults, but careless remarks are often the ones that hurt the most. It may mean nothing when you say it, but the listener might take it all in. Not because some people just bruise easily than others, but because it came from people who mattered. Relationships between people seem to be constructed by thin threads, easily broken. With people we're closer to, we often forget that those threads, though plenteous, remains fragile. Be it deliberate affronts or careless mentions, why do we hurt people we care about? It's tedious and I don't know if anyone else agrees with how I feel. If only we could all learn how to only say the right things at the right time. If only speaking our thoughts could be easier. If only people knew how much certain words weigh.
